Subhasish Chakraborty, our Chairman and Managing Director, recently announced that DTDC Express is gearing up for significant investments in infrastructure and technology development. In his words, “Our investment is happening on infrastructure, technology (upgrade) development, as well as building a technology team. And this investment, possibly, will not be less than Rs 100 crore this year.”

Mr Chakraborty shared that we are expecting a 30% increase in total shipments during this festive season (October-November) compared to September.

We are committed to delivering quality and efficiency to our customers, and these investments reflect our dedication to achieving that goal.

He added, “I am quite sure that with the kind of integrations happening in the sector and the way customer requirements are increasing with e-commerce, it (the logistics sector) has a fantastic future going forward.”

Last fiscal year, DTDC Express experienced impressive growth with a 23% overall increase, thanks to the success of both our domestic and international businesses. International business, in particular (Australia), has been growing at an accelerated pace over the past two years.

The momentum continues, with a 16% growth in the first two quarters of this fiscal year compared to the same period last year. Notably, our international business’s cross-border e-commerce has seen remarkable growth, with a 100% increase month-on-month.

To support this growth, we are expanding our fleet of trucks by adding over 500 vehicles this fiscal year. Currently, DTDC handles over 12 million shipments per month through our 580 operating facilities, encompassing 2.21 million square feet of storage space.
